In an era where the demands of daily life make leisure time scarce, Chiddingfold Golf has boldly redefined the traditional golf course structure.
Inspired by the world’s oldest major, The British Open, which was originally played over 12 holes. The club recently transitioned from an 18-hole layout to a 12-hole format, prioritising a faster and more flexible game that appeals to today’s time conscious golfers.
We are entering our third year as a 12 hole destination and the business continues to grow with both revenue and rounds of golf exceeding even the very best years as an 18 hole traditional golf club!
Our business model has been endorsed by some of the biggest names in golf including Nick Faldo, the most successful British Professional Golfer in history, and Jack Nicklaus, probably the most famous Golfer in the world.
An unexpected consequence of our success is the interest we’ve attracted from around the world. This has lead to management and consultancy contracts to transform other 18 hole venues into 12 hole family golf centres.
Chiddingfold Golf was founded 4 years ago by Phil Stevens who, as well as being a member of the PGA for 40 years, has successfully owned and managed golf facilities in the Uk and Spain.
We are currently working with a number of individuals and organisations, either as consultants in changing their business models, or to acquire suitable venues
for conversion into 12 holes.

12 Hole Golf
12 holes fits in extremely well and more or less follows the original course with some really interesting changes and avoids the serious hills around the finish of the course. The opportunity to play 12,18, 24 or even 36 holes will be an option.
Why 12 holes?
We are not the first 12-hole course. The British Open was originally played at Prestwick over a 12-hole course designed by Old Tom Morris!
In fact, the great Jack Nicklaus has recently opened a 12-hole course in America to encourage new players who maybe don’t always have 4 hours to spare!
In recent times, the 12-hole format has been famously endorsed by many golf luminaries, including Paige Spiranac.
Our philosophy
Our philosophy is a long way from the traditional golf club model, with our focus being on having fun with great value and hospitality with no captain, committees, or unnecessary rules.
